The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

After Penn State I completed a doctorate in ecology at the University of Georgia. My career has been enjoyably spent as a professor (spending the first 14 years at the University of Texas at Dallas) and an academic administrator. I served as Dean of Science and Mathematics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. I had the great good fortune to return to Penn State from 2000 to 2004 and serve as the CEO of Penn State Altoona, before taking on my present position as President of the University of North Alabama. My wife, Betty Jean (everyone calls her BJ), and I have been married for 35 years and we enjoy duplicate bridge, golf, and travel. The community where we live, Florence, AL, sits on the Tennessee River and is quite beautiful as well as historic. We still love Penn State and return from time to time to visit friends and enjoy a football game.
